What is Simply...Challenging?

In brief, Simply...Challenging is my challenge blog. Here, I'm only listing the reading (and 1 writing) challenges I am/have taken part in, as well as book lists for each. My reviews are posted at Goodreads. Yes, it seems weird, but right now, it works for me. ;)

Titanic 100th Anniversary Reading Challenge

1 January 2012 - 31 December 2012

Nicola of Back to Books is hosting the Titanic 100th Anniversary Reading Challenge.

April 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.  Nicola has created this challenge in honour of that fact, and challenges participants to read, watch and listen to anything Titanic.  Any age range or format is acceptable, though Nicola just asks that you mix up your chosen materials (i.e. non-fiction, fiction, documentary/movie, talking book, children's, ya, adult, etc.).

There are 3 levels to choose from:

Getting My Feet Wet - read/watch 3 Titanic-related materials
Taking a Plunge - read/watch 6 Titanic-related materials
Going Down With the Ship - read/watch 12 Titanic-related matterials

*****

At first I was going to attempt the first level, but when I went browsing through my library's catalogue, I had to up myself to the 2nd level (Taking a Plunge - 6 books)!  I used to be quite interested in the Titanic when I was a teenager, and I remember taping (on VHS!) the 1994 A&E specials (which, if I can find copies of, I'll be watching! ;)

As titles are read, they will be added, dated, a link to a review posted, and (finally, since I love to do it!) crossed out.
1.  The Watch That Ends the Night: Voices From the Titanic by Allan Wolf (fiction/poetry)
2.  RMS Titanic: Gilded Lives on a Fatal Voyage by Hugh Brewster (tbr March 2012) (non-fiction)
3.  Voyagers of the Titanic: Passengers, Sailors, Shipbuilders, Aristocrats, and the Worlds They Came From by Richard Davenport-Hines (tbr March 2012) (non-fiction)
4.  Titanic: Death of a Dream and Titanic: The Legend Lives On (1994) (documentary)
